Correspondence analysis (CA) is a way to visualize a two-way and multi-way contingency tables. This method provides us with a way to see how different levels of categorical variables may be related, revealing patterns that are difficult to ascertain with just the table. This method relies on constructing a distance matrix, typically from the chi-square contributions, and then performing a PCA on the distance matrix.
This workshop will also touch on different methods that are related to correspondence analysis, including multiple correspondence analysis, joint correspondence analysis, detrended correspondence analysis, and canonical correspondence analysis.
